A program full of events enriched since its inception, the first event was dedicated to Fabrizio De André and brought the immense art of the Genoese poet to the Ecolandia Park stage with the “Compagnia del Teatro di Mu.” “Arte al Forte” thus confirms a date that is of the highest and artistic and cultural depth, a “gloCal” mix in line with the guidelines for the entire Reggio summer program, which aims to promote local talent while also showcasing major national and international events

Art and music are the main attractions in the program that every year involves an audience of experts and enthusiasts from all over Italy. Included in the program are the unique and exciting sounds of jazz, the genius and profound lightness of the repetoire of Rino Gaetano, and auteur cinema with its showcasing of short Russian films. The spearhead of “Arte al Forte” is undoubtedly the “Face Festival”, the Ecolandia “doc” brand that this year has proposed a profound and relevant reflection on the themes of the South, as the emblematic title of the event suggests: “Sudconscio” (“Southern consciousness”). It is an event that has involved over 350 artists over ten years, acting as a full member of the Calabrian region’s historic events since 2015.

For the 2019 edition, which takes place from July 18th-July 28th, thirty artists will be involved in five episodes that characterise the entire event. Blair Crimmins and the Hooker, Antonio Sorgentone (winner of the TV show “Italy's Got Talent”), Peppe Voltarelli, and Dimartino's Aphrodite Tour, are just some of the big names lined up for the “Face Festival.”

The much-anticipated international jazz concert, in the spirit of “Peperoncino jazz”, takes the stage on July 22nd with Uri Caine, one of the most important pianists in the world, and on August 26th with the queen of soul, Marta High, an amazing artist from the team of James Brown.

As usual, space has been made for the cinema in the format of the “Pentedattilo Film Festival”, which will promote winners of past editions and the theatre with the play “Antigone, the dream of the butterfly”, by the Officine Jonike Arti theatre company.
