Experience the earth from the sky
Experiencing a free flight in the Reggio Calabria area is possible and exciting. The easiest way to do this is by paragliding or parachuting: respecting the environment without using engines or pollution, with only the breath-taking landscapes to be experienced directly from the sky.
Paragliding
Calabria offers many places to practice this sport. It also has several schools where one can learn and various centres with expert instructors that can also accompany the inexperienced in an unforgettable tandem flight to finally wear the wings and experience the excitement of the air. The most beautiful points from which to practice the tandem paragliding and hang-gliding flights are in Scilla along the Costa Viola, in Palmi (Rc) from Mount S. Elia with a view of the Strait of Messina, in Bagnara Calabra and Villa S. Giovanni. Moreover, not in the Reggio territory but still within easy reach, in Pizzo Calabro and Tropea on the Costa degli Dei.
DID YOU KNOW THAT …?
To perform these types of sports, you must be at least 18, or 16 if you are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Furthermore, one must not suffer from specific illnesses, such as epilepsy or tachycardia.
Parachuting
To experience the extreme thrill of a free flight, however, there is a tandem launch with a two-seater parachute. The thrills will start from over 4000 metres high, firmly attached to an expert instructor, travelling at a speed of over 200 km/h to provide a minute of pure adrenaline in the unforgettable frame of Calabria.
